About Little Bun Designs UK

‘Bloom Where You Are Planted’

The road to Little Bun Designs UK has been a long & varied crafting journey- defined by my life long battle with anxiety disorder & OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).
These disorders, which started in childhood, have thwarted many career plans, meaning my path in life has been largely out of my control.
After several setbacks, I have therefore fallen back upon my inner creativity in order to forge a living.
When you purchase a Little Bun product, you are not supporting a hobby or a sideline, not even just a dream - you are supporting a livelihood; helping me every day to literally Bloom Where I am Planted.

Little Bun

The original Little Bun was a tiny ball of white floof, with only three legs.
Quite simply, the most adoring (& hilarious) creature I have ever known!
In three short years, he wove his way into my life and my heart and my business is named in remembrance of a fellow warrior who also bloomed where he was planted!

Designs

I have always found hand sewing to be a very therapeutic experience - intensely calming & especially helpful for the intrusive thoughts bought on by OCD.
Working with felt has always been my favourite, due to its design flexibility & neatness. (And possibly connected to my childhood love of Fuzzy Felt!)
These hand sewn items range from my novelty felt pincushions & best selling funky felt chickens to ‘doodling’ with free hand embroidery - particularly on notebook covers.
Having an intense love of fabric, but still yet to learn how to machine sew - I’ve learned to craft with it instead. My fabric covered & padded notebook range has expanded to include address books, sketch books & diaries & my handmade bookmarks continue to be a best seller!
Leading on from this, I now offer handmade notebooks using traditional bookbinding methods & plan to embark on bookbinding workshops in the near future.

My work is heavily influenced by my passion for the 19th century Arts and Crafts movement, with William Morris at its core - known for his sinuously elegant textiles and also his ethos of ‘never have anything in your house which isn’t both practical and beautiful’
With Little Bun Designs my aim is to make everyday items beautiful, and bespoke handmade gifts affordable and available to all.

Thank you for supporting my small business!
